A GFS horse has had the very best opportunity to become the best they can be regarding breeding providence, welfare, handling and health care from day one! We do not breed by accident or whim, our horses are bred with absolute professionalism from conception to the moment they leave us. They are free to roam from foals on huge improved pasture land of varied terrain, learning and playing naturally in a herd environment as well as the benefits of periodic handling for regular trimming, worming and age appropriate training intervals. All are bred from Anglo European Studbook Graded stallions and Graded mares, microchipped, registered with full papers with the Anglo European Studbook and vaccinated for tetanus.
All of our horses are winter housed but have extensive access to all weather turnout throughout the bad weather. Each horse is individually monitored at all times and fed as appropriate and in accordance with their physical development and nutritional requirements. Our forage is analysed and grass methodically rested and or cross grazed to maintain clean, healthy pasture for our youngsters and broodmares to benefit from.
Our clients can tell the difference and are discerning enough to recognise not only the top quality of our youngsters but the extra efforts it takes to make them stand out. The GFS horses fantastic natures and relaxed willing outlook is no accident, their natural good temperament and great attitudes have been nurtured from birth and selectively bred into them by using only breeding stock of exceptional attributes both physically and in terms of temperament! Our program is one that is firmly established and as such we are able to offer a good choice of horses 'stamped' with our own particular credentials and criteria. In most cases we are also able to offer the opportunity to meet dams, sires as well as siblings and occasionally grandparents or G.grandparents!!

This yearling filly is as eye catching as she is athletic. She has a lot of presence for a yearling and with her lovely colour and unusual markings, she is a real beauty.
GFS Masquerade has a hugely appealing character, showing an inherent sense of sociability and bold, friendly confidence. She is a pleasure to handle and displays a calm intelligence in situations that assuming that might phase another young horse.
Her breeding is of solid performance bloodlines which will hopefully make her capable of attaining high levels in any of the Olympic disciplines. Her breeding represents an ideal amalgamation of horses with big, supple movement, scope over a fence, great attitude, top temperament and a high level of both trainability and rideability.
This filly's half brother, GFS Mikado had been retained to stand as a potential future stallion at GFS Sporthorses, but due to a determined buyer, he was sold to the USA to represent the GFS breeding program. He has since been Graded AES and Wesphalian and recently Approved by the Oldenburg Registry. He is in a top show barn where he is being carefully produced by his owners and has commenced what is looking likely to be a very exciting SJ career.
GFS Masquerade's dam, Charisma is a Westphalian registered mare by the advanced Elite eventing Trakehner stallion Camaro and her dam is a Kinsky warmblood mare and product of a dedicated breeding program initiated by Count Kinsky in developing a horse of enormous versatility and outstanding temperaments.
This breed has excelled over the past century in almost all disciplines with great aplomb but their true purpose and original forte was as steeplechasers extraordinaire. They have as a breed had great success in the 'Devil's Race' the Grand Pardubice in the now Czech Republic.
Masquerade's grandsire Camaro is one of only two Elite coloured Trakehner stallions. Twice he has been a Young Horse Championship qualifier for the German Bundeschampionate. He is both an advanced eventer and show jumper. His sire, Le Duc was Reserve Champion winner at his performance test with unprecedented scores of 10 for character, efficiency of movement and trot. He scored a 9 in all other categories. A Grand Prix dressage stallion with a performance index of 146, his dam was a consistent producer of Performance Test winners.
Her G.Grandsire, Anduc, a son of number one Trakehner stallion in the World, Marduc was another Elite stallion renowned for producing progeny of outstanding temperament and rideability.
This filly had very much been been intended as a 'keeper' but an almost complete reduction of our youngstock means that somebody is going to get very lucky this year with some absolutely outstanding young horses, including this super girl.

This filly is absolutely breathtaking to look at with her shimmering pale golden coat adorned with tiny streaks of silver, the only indication that she has inherited her dams minimally coloured genetics.
She is one of those young horses that instantly catches the eye and moves with the kind of poise, confidence and natural spring of the born athlete. She has a hugely appealing character, showing an inherent sense of sociability and bold, friendly confidence.

A full sister to GFS Fire and Ice. She is absolutely everything we could have wished for when planning her breeding; tall, a big powerful mover who just loves to jump and can barely keep her feet on the ground. She of course has the very beautiful head of both her brother and sire (Colourthyme Kajika) as well as their wonderful personalities and incredible temperaments.
She moves with great purpose and style, her absolute presence and physical capabilities being obvious from the first stride. She has a great deal of speed and built to sail over jumps.
Jinx is powerfully built and would easily carry weight if necessary. She is very light on her feet and a really dynamic young horse. She uses her body with every step and in every pace and at full tilt she barely touches the ground. Her movement is big and showy without looking unnatural and her attitude is pure gold.
Had it not been for the uncertainty that Covid has brought to our lives, Jinx would have been started under saddle last year and aimed at BYEH classes, instead we put her in foal as the plan was that she would be staying here ad infinitum.
The decision to put Jinx in foal was not made lightly. It had nor been our intention to use her as a broodmare until much later in her life. However with the world upside down and having just lost her beloved dam to a horrendous accident, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to give her a little more time to mature mentally and physically before a ridden career.
Jinx foaled easily and was the most incredible mother. Her foal is sensational and everything we could have hoped for with the same irrepressible energy, enthusiasm and love of life. She too moves as though dancing and showing the same natural desire to jump.

Her sire Colourthyme Kajika was one of our foundation stallions, his foals are easily recognisable by their strong, compact physiques, strong backs, powerful build and stunning heads. Their temperaments have always been simply amazing; highly people oriented, genuine and incredibly willing under saddle.
Kajika's foals have an extraordinary bond with people from the start, quick to learn, eager to please and very gentle. Highly sociable and with a great natures, these special individuals stand with such pride and presence. Their movement is extravagant, floating and rhythmic and to date, once in their new homes...they are there for life!

Kajika is bred from both rare and sought after bloodlines. He was sired by, Just a Monarch. A stallion that has produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny including the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.
Rock Kings' dam, Rocky's Double and Grand dam, Farley Mount were both prolific producers of CCI **** Eventers, including; Double Trust, Alfresco, Trust in me and Kilcashel.
Folly's damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, HIS Premium stallion and sire of double Olympic event mare Withcote Nellie and dam sire of NZ WEG Team horse Classic Moet, previous years Badminton winner.
Her dam's dam was a Connemara jumping pony, Spring Fidgit which is where her glorious golden colour and very pretty almost 'pony' head.

The dam of this filly has thrown me foal after foal of such quality regardless of which stallion I have used. Every one has been quite exceptional and I have been heartbroken to part with each of them!
'Shadow' is by the incredible jumping stallion Indoctro, her dam lines are also impeccable. She has a wonderful character and is a very special horse indeed.
This was the first time that we have used GFS Lord of the Dance on her and we never used his sire Destello either. I chose GFS Lord of the Dance this time because I believe that they would be a match made in heaven in producing a very talented eventing prospect.
The filly that they have produced in GFS Arabesque is nothing short of phenomenal. She is a very big, powerful yet elegant young horse with the conformation of a true equine athlete and to watch her move is a dream come true. This horse would easily reach the top of a dressage career, her movement is extraordinary. She was bred to event and she is fast, agile and as brave as a lion with exceptional balance, the ability to change leg, direction at any speed, stop on a postage stamp and accelerate with ease in the tightest of spaces. She is intelligent, careful and gloriously aware of her own strength and ability.
GFS Arabesque is without a doubt probably one of the most extraordinarily gifted horses I have ever bred and ever seen.

This colt simply captivated me from the moment of his arrival. His breeding was quite a dream for me as I was using our homebred stallion GFS Eskimo Jo who had not yet enjoyed a proper breeding season due to injury. The mare I chose was an absolutely stunning looking Westphalian Head Studbook It's Magic, an ex show jumper by the great Hogwart who had both an incredible temperament and near to perfect conformation.I just instinctively knew would be the perfect match.
'Madge' was retired from an impressive showjumping career and had always thrown incredibly beautiful offspring who are very fast on their feet, beautifully balanced and big, expressive movers. They have all had magical temperaments and all proved to be willing and motivated. I had a strong feeling that this pairing was going to produce a very useful jumper with power, speed, huge presence and a fantastic work ethic. So far I am encouraged by everything this glorious colt is proving to be.
His sire GFS Eskimo Jo is a massive 18hh , with exceptional jumping bloodlines, he is only six years old and still very much growing into his huge skeleton and not nearly at full strength. We are taking him slowly but his current aptitude towards work is exemplary and he shows not only a willing intelligence but also enormous balance for one so big. He is the class clown and a handful at times but the moment his tack is on he is all concentration, heart and effort. He is relaxed in his work and a delight under saddle.
This colt is quite likely to be a very exciting jumping prospect and very much on track to become not only a superb stallion prospect but also a massively exciting youngster to be produced to the best of his ability, which I think is going to be a revelation!

Graded into the Westfalian Head Stud Book, she is by Hogwart the International Grand Prix showjumping stallion and Westfalian Stallion Champion (Concorde/Voltaire/Nimmerdor) This is a stallion of such quality that he is Licensed into the Belgium Warmblood, Holsteiner, KWPN, NRPS (Dutch) and Westfalian Studbooks. Madge is out of a Cassini/Caletto mare whose pedigree is steeped in International showjumpers. Madge is a fantastic big moving mare with powerful, compact conformation, a stunning head and great attitude. Al Pacino W showed his superb qualities during his performance tests: he was NRPS approved, and fulfilled all requirements KWPN Approval.
Andiamo Z her G.sire jumped to Grand Prix levell.
His sire, Animo competed consistently among the best in World Cup and grand Prix competitions in the 90's. He jumped in the Olympic Final in 1992, and was placed in 48 World Cups ans Grand Prix. As a breeding stallion, Animo boasts sons approved in numerous studbooks globally.
Alme (GGG Sire)
Almé had a successful career at stud, which is often compared to that of the champion Thoroughbred stallion, Northern Dancer. He first stood at stud as a five year old, serving France from 1971-1974, before standing at Zangersheide from 1975-1985. He was then returned to France, where he stood at the Brullemail stud farm until his retirement in 1990, covering 420 mares from across Europe. His stud fee during this time, after having proven himself so well, ranged from F14,000 to F20,000.
During his first 4 years in France, Almé sired the international show jumpers Galoubet, I Love You (2 time World Cup winner), and Jalisco, as well as the stallions Quick Star and Quatoubet (sire of the three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet). While standing at Zangersheide, his offspring were registered in the Hanoverian stud book, where his blood had great influence, and he also made his way into the Holstein stud books through his sons Ahorn Z, Aloubé Z, Athlet Z, and Alexis Z. His grandson, Quidam de Revel, has also been used in Holstein breeding.
Alme is the only horse to have sired 2 World Champions and 3 Olympic horses. His son, Aerobic, became the top priced horse at the PSI Auktion in Ankum (650,000 DM).
Julio Mariner her GG Sire on her sires dams page is believed to be on of the top thoroughbreds ever produced for breeding top sporthorses. Adding refinement, speed and intelligence.
He produced motherlines of great importance and also top competitive sons who have excelled in sport and as producers of sport horses.
Julio Mariner xx was approved in seven studbooks, including KWPN, Holstein, Hannover and Oldenburg. He was praised by breeders for his eagerness and excellent jumping techniques and is one of the best thoroughbred sires in Dutch breeding. Indeed, technique, reflexes and alertness characterise both the jumping manners of Julio Mariner xx and those of his offspring.

NARCOS II

Returned to her breeder, Prince Amaury de Broglie, Dirka was bred to Sans Souci, to produce two international competitors, Orka and Paprika de Revel, then with Jalisco B she produced Quidam de Revel and the broodmares, Razzia and Sarah de Revel. With Jalisco’s half brother, Kisosovo, she produced CSO winner, Vallon Rouge, and with Narcos, Aiglon Rouge, a star in Holland. With Quat’sous, she produced Byra Rouge, and with Papillon Rouge, Dirka de Revel. What a mare!

Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperament, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. As a four year old Rock King won the Stoneways Potential Showjumper and was in the final twelve for the Young Event Horse Class. From there his career sky rocketed. Sadly, his career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweeseldown Horse Trials in 2000 where he sustained a fatal injury. He was at that time already Advanced, accruing over 200 BE points during his short career which would otherwise undoubtedly have seen him feature in many major horse trials.
He was sired by, Just a Monarch. A stallion that has produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny including the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.
Her damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, producer of eventers extraordinaire including this years

His dam is by the Danish Warmblood Crown's Ace of Pearl who is a stallion who has acquitted himself as a true athlete as a showjumper, in the dressage arena and eventing.
His sire Crown's Blue Pearl, following in his own illustrious sires footsteps was not only the Gold Medal Stallion of the Year in 2007 but also a GP showjumping International.
This stunning filly's dams line is sired by the precocious and celebrated TB stallion Hubbly Bubbly, sired by and with a double cross to Mr Prospector.

GFS Moonlight Echo! (06/09/1)
Two weeks ago we brought her down from the youngstock paddocks, loaded her without a moments hesitation and sent her to Frankie Price Equine.
In the past couple of weeks this incredibly smart, athletic and genuine three year old is schooling nicely, hacking out with no issues and last weekend displayed superb manners and a great attitude when Autumn hunting!
Without a doubt this filly has huge potential in the competitive arena and is of show quality too!
Echo currently stands at 15.2hh but remains croup high, we would expect her to attain a mature height of approx 16hh. She has big expressive paces and demonstrates excellent balance under saddle already for her age and such a short time since starting work. She is exceptionally athletic, easy to handle, loves the company of people and thrives on attention.
GFS Moonlight Echo is by Licensed BPA stallion GFS Diamond Echo, by the GP dressage stallion Treliver Decanter and out of Malibu Breeze (Malibu Galileo/Blushing Scribe) who is the dam of our junior stallion GFS Lord of the Dance.
Echo's dam who has show jumped in Ireland is by Karandasj (Fedor/Darco/Irco Polo) the KWPN Keur Grand Prix stallion who was jumping international level as a six year old. This stallion is renowned for both his talent and exemplary temperament which he typically passed to his offspring, many of which have been hugely successful in young horse classes.
Her G.dam, another Keur awarded KWPN mare competed very successfully at Grand Prix dressage level and whose breeding Hofnar/Aram is of proven performance provenance in each discipline.
This exciting three year old is going to go far and would make an excellent eventing prospect as she is brave, fast, agile as a cat and demonstrates both superb paces and a fantastic work ethic which would also make her a suitable dressage candidate.
She recently flew through a five stage vetting and has only ever benefited from professional handling, excellent nutrition, foot care, turn out in vast paddocks of mixed terrain in a similar age herd where she could enjoy being a young horse and on a careful worming program from day one. She is vice free, good to worm, trim, catch and has good stable manners.
