GFS Foals 2021
Please register your interest if there is a particular foal that catches your eye, I cannot guarantee that it will be available but it will certainly put you ahead in the queue!
NO foal will be offered for sale until it is at least a month old as before this time it is quite impossible to assess it and price it correctly, this is something we do very carefully.
Please also note, we breed not only for conformation, temperament, performance and staggeringly good looks, all of which I believe are evident! But, we have also built a reputation for breeding the larger sport horse. Our stallions are 16.3hh and above, our mares are of similar type and all between 16hh - 17.3hh. They are mostly all proven to throw tall offspring. We do not foresee any arrivals standing less than 16.1hh at maturity, some will be considerably taller. However as with any information given in terms of foals, our guesstimates are just that and based solely on our professional opinion and years of experience, they are not a guarantee of performance, height at maturity or exact colour shades as this all varies on the individual so much as they develop into adult horses.
Our mares and stallions are Graded and all our foals are eligible for numerous full Stud Book Registration.
Please note: Our horses are bred with absolute care and attention to detail, our mares are treated like royalty and no expense is spared in the care and upkeep of these horses. We are not hobby breeders and the time, effort and expense that goes in to these horses makes all the difference, we do not sell bargains and both the quality and extra effort is clear to the discerning eye and particular buyer who wants well bred, properly cared for, quality horses purchased correctly handled and a professional service.
Breeding correctly is an expensive and labour intensive enterprise and our horses are priced according to production costs, their worth and in line with current market conditions.

This colt is as superb an example of our breeding program as we could hope for. Tall, powerful, elegant, athletic and with a big character of excellent temperament.
He is by GFS Lord of the Dance and his lightness of step, agility and speed has been a perfect marriage with this super colt's damlines. His dam 'Destiny' is a superb ISH broodmare by Olympic Lux, a prolific show jumping stallion by Luz Z who competed at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. This is a mare who has proven herself time and again as a mare who produces outstanding offspring. She is the dam of our own Paddy of Liosin, Grandmother to GFS Eskimo Jo and numerous other exceptional young horses including two healthy sets of twins born here in 2018 and 2020 who despite their dubious survival chances both thrived and have both gone to homes where they will be produced to compete.
His sire, the sensational cremello homebred stallion GFS Lord of the Dance is a rare amalgamation of Akhal Teke, Russian Trakehner and Thoroughbred, making him a superb prospect as an eventing sire but his elegance, sheer athletiicism, incredible temperament and expressive movement has translated in many of his foals benefiting from movement easily good enough to be considered as serious dressage prospects in addition to having the brain, speed and power to event or show jump.

This tall, elegant and charming colt is very typical of the class, talent and temperament that his wonderful dam imparts on all of her foals. He has the most golden nature and to watch him loose in the arena at his dam's side is pure magic. He is born to compete and will be a joy to his lucky owner in every way.
Costa Brava is fully Graded into the Hanoverian Head Stud Book. She has competed up to 1.30 successfully prior to being retired to stud.
Her sire Contendro I is one of the most prolific sires of top performance horses across the spectrum of Olympic disciplines which includes over 87 top show jumping progeny in competition. He features as one of the top ranked producers of both show jumping and eventing progeny and has had a profound effect on sports breeding.
Costa's dam lines are equally impressive with the addition of some renowned dressage lines of importance through competitive endeavour and breeding.
As expected, her foals with us to date have been nothing short of outstanding. Each blessed with absolutely superb paces and movement, exceptional natural athletic prowess with intelligent, kind and willing outlooks.
His sire is Paddy of Liosin, a stallion who is as beautiful in as out. I purchased Paddy in Utero and sold him to a lovely home earlier this year to continue his competitive career with an owner who could give him more time than us. We produced him slowly and carefully to Novice eventing in my ownership but the time had come for him to move to pastures new where he could achieve his true potential. Paddy has sired two Graded stallions to date, GFS Zhivago who stands in Germany and GFS Eskimo Jo who remains here with us.
Paddy is by Crown's Ace of Pearl a stallion who has proven himself versatile and demonstrated consistent results in all three of the Olympic disciplines and a sire of really super offspring competed in numerous disciplines and renowned for the superb temperament that this lovely stallion stamps his offspring with..
Paddy's grandsire; Crown's Blue Pearl is both a showjumping International and the Danish Gold Medal winning stallion of the year 2007.
Paddy's dam sire is Olympic Lux, celebrated stallion and sire of International showjumpers. A dual purpose sire with many successful eventing progeny, he was sired by Lux Z, one of the most successful stallions in International showjumping. He competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. A winner of over a million euro, his pedigree is something of a blue chip dynasty in the world of International competition, with a litany of champions peppering every extension of the family tree!

This absolutely stunning colt had a bit of a rough start. At two days old his dam stepped on him creating an abscess that when it burst left him with a gaping hole in the skin that covered the outside of his hock. The proximity of this wound to the joint was too close for comfort and despite him never being lame no it compromising the joint capsule, daily dressing changes were critical in maintaining that status quo as the flesh around the wound gradually grew back and healed. It took four and a half months, heaven knows how many miles of bandages, soft ban, dressings and vet wrap but we got there in the end! He was a star and it has been worth every agonisingly stressful moment to see him healed. This colt has the most incredible temperament, he is brave, so friendly, trusting and incredibly funny with a character that just makes him everybody's friend and such fun to spend time with.
He is going to be a tall horse with super conformation and a lot of talent. He moves beautifully with expressive, supple and ground covering action. He is quick, balanced and moves with lovely long, strong strides and powerful action. His bloodlines are definitely leaning towards every expectation of a big jump and talent pointing to a career jumping or eventing.
His dam Quirilina Z is a Zangersheide mare who has jumped with success at 1.20 on an FEI passport and has a good BSJA record with her previous amateur owner.
She is a big, powerfully built horse with absolutely outstanding movement, balance and speed. She has a superb jumping pedigree and enormous scope over a fence.
This lovely mare has quality in both looks and ability, she has a lovely nature and this she has clearly passed on to her gorgeous colt.i
Her sire Quirifino Z successfully competed for several years at 1.60m with Ben Maher, coming 4th in the Hickstead Derby among numerous other winnings at Grand Prix level, including competing at the Global Champions Tour 2009 & 2010.
He is a very versatile stallion having produced both showjumpers and eventers. He is renowned for passing his laid back nature to his offspring.
Quidam de Revel, Quirifino's sire is one of the most influential breeding stallions of all time. His offspring are highly sought after as they have huge scopey jumps, but remain ultra careful. In 2004 Quidam topped the World Breeding Championships jumping stallion ratings for the second year, establishing him as the pre-eminent (and most expensive) living sire of showjumping horses.
Quirifino's dam sire Grosso Z produced the international jumping star Goldfever and the international dressage stallion Goethe.
Her damsire Lorentin I is a famous Holsteiner dressage stallion which may well explain her phenomenal movement! He competed at Grand Prix level and sired top dressage progeny including L'Acteur and Limocello.
Fleming her dams Holsteiner grandsire also competed at Grand Prix dressage.
GFS Talisman is sired by Paddy of Liosin, a stallion who is as beautiful in as out. I purchased Paddy in Utero and sold him to a lovely home earlier this year to continue his competitive career with an owner who could give him more time than us. Here is our first GFS Eskimo Jo foal of the year and it seems the boy is going to be quite some sire if this years foals are to be the benchmark!
This really lovely looking chestnut colt has enormous presence and absolutely super conformation with all the obvious attributes of a real athlete with a definite leaning towards a potential dressage career due to his style in movement and the controlled power he demonstrates in his trot in particular which is big, perfectly balanced and all power. He has a really lovely canter and a big purposeful walk.
He has a superb nature and is both friendly and a relaxed character with a sensible attitude and a highly attuned brain when being asked for something. He is calm, cooperative and a joy to work with.
Now weaned, he is proving to have a bold, intelligent and cooperative temperament with superb manners in every situation and a charming, affectionate nature. I feel that he has enough quality to merit potentially running on as a future stallion, in addition he is demonstrating both mental and physical balance, which coupled with his superb movement, power and intelligence makes him a genuinely exciting prospect capable of an exciting career in either SJ, eventing or between the boards.
With this breeding I have used a very tall, elegant blood type mare who demonstrates a really fantastic ground covering trot and a very fast gallop. She is by Treliver Decanter the GP Dressage stallion and out of an Elite Graded SH(GB) mare by the Saddlers Wells bred stallion Accondy. Her dam sire is World Cup, the GP dressage stallion and sire of many top dressage horses.
His sire is GFS Eskimo Jo who combines the modern sporthorse of his sire Paddy of Liosin (Crown's Ace of Pearl x Olympic Lux/Lux Z) with some of the most important Holsteiner show jumping bloodlines. His dam was Graded into the Holsteiner Stud book, she competed in Germany
Sahara is a lighter type mare who looks very similar in type to her TB ancestry and as I believed, she has benefited from the infusion of body and power that 'Mojo' has brought to the party. As I had hoped, this is a big bodied foal with the legs, speed and stamina of her TB ancestry with the movement and dressage capability of her sire and G.Sire with the phenomenal jumping ability of 'Mojo's' impressive ancestry.
I always try to breed as ever a horse that would be capable of any job but who would show real talent as an eventer in time as to me that is the epitome of an all round athlete and one capable of anything asked of them throughout their ridden career. This colt is eminently capable of performing in any arena and with great aplomb too. I know this foal will be an amazing horse.

Buckskin Filly
To make between 16.3hh - 17hh+
https://sporthorse-data.com/pedigree/gfs-rhapsody
This is a very tall and particularly beautiful buckskin filly by GFS Fire and Ice. She is a calm, gentle, friendly filly with the kindest eye and absolutely breathtaking movement which she has clearly inherited from her sire as her gorgeous dam although very impressive in her huge striding paces certainly does not move with such poetry in motion.
GFS Rhapsody is probably going to be much like her dam Deihaiwejo ('Inca's') other progeny who have been slow to grow and late maturing which when they get there, is well worth the wait! Her foals have all grown to be stunning looking horses with highly trainable attitudes and kind, loving temperaments with a lot of talent.
Deihaiwejo is by Al Pacino W - An outstanding International Grand Pix show jumper and
son of the amazing “phenomenon” Andiamo by Animo- Almé).
Her dam lines are equally impressive with her dam sire, Aiglon Rouge a son of two of the most incredible jumpers and producers of simply incredible offspring. Narcos II and the legendary mare, Dirka - dam of Quidam de Revel, Paprika de Revel, Vallon Rouge to name just a few!
This mare, in addition to her incredible ancestry of high achieving and historically important bloodlines. She has the most wonderful character and sensible nature which she consistently passes on to her offspring. A mare of impeccable breeding, huge athleticism, movement who was bred to excel as a jumper in her own right but fate and injury has prevented this.
Al Pacino W was bred from the beautiful blood mare SATAJAVERTE (by JulioMarinier xx)
Al Pacino W showed his superb qualities during his performance tests: he was NRPS approved, and fulfilled all requirements KWPN Approval.
Andiamo Z her G.sire jumped to Grand Prix level.
His sire, Animo competed consistently among the best in World Cup and grand Prix competitions in the 90's. He jumped in the Olympic Final in 1992, and was placed in 48 World Cups and Grand Prix. As a breeding stallion, Animo boasts sons approved in numerous studbooks globally.
Deihaiwejo's dam Oilano was a GP showjumper sired by Aiglon Rouge. a Selle Francais stallion of impeccable high performance bloodlines. Standing in Belgium this highly sought after sire of top jumping progeny is by Narcos II and out of the truly remarkable mare of world wide renown, Dirka.
Half brother to Quidam de Revel and Paprioka de Revel to name only a few of the outstanding offspring of Dirka.
Narcos was chosen to compete in the Seoul Olympics and has been a regular competitor in international competitions from Calgary to Hickstead. In 1991 he won the European Young Riders Championship. Has won numerous puissance classes which included a record jump of 2.25 metres.
This is one of the most sought after stallions in France where his offspring are now now jumping internationally. He is half brother to Quat'Sous and Vercors IV and one of his sons' is Hinault.
Aiglon Rouge's dam Dirka, despite being only 163 cms, won at international level with Nelson Pessoa, before being given to Xavier Leredde who made his junior international debut on her.
Returned to her breeder, Prince Amaury de Broglie, Dirka was bred to Sans Souci, to produce two international competitors, Orka and Paprika de Revel, then with Jalisco B she produced Quidam de Revel and the broodmares, Razzia and Sarah de Revel. With Jalisco’s half brother, Kisosovo, she produced CSO winner, Vallon Rouge, and with Narcos, Aiglon Rouge, a star in Holland. With Quat’sous, she produced Byra Rouge, and with Papillon Rouge, Dirka de Revel. What a mare!
Oilano's dam sire Enrico is a high performance International showjumper of pure Anglo Arab Breeding. He is descended from Fast, Vadrague and Pancho, sires of numerous International Eventers, Show Jumpers and Grand Prix Dressage progeny.

This colt is spectacular in every way whether you care for double dilutes or not!
Once in a while a breeder can look at a foal almost before they make their first hesitant steps and feel a moment of absolute electric elation because some foals just make you catch your breath and make dreams a reality. This colt was greeted into the world with stunned, silent elation and he has not yet ceased to amaze and delight every day since with his charming character, easy nature and his explosive and impressive demonstration of powerful, expressive and natural agility in each gait.
He is going to be very tall, perfectly proportioned with a beautiful head and strong correct conformation. His self carriage is phenomenal and being naturally uphill and forward in the way he moves, he is incredibly expressive in the way he moves being both balanced and blessed with explosive impulsion. Bred to event, I think this colt would present as an excellent choice to produce for this discipline, however he would be equally suited for a career in dressage of show jumping.
He has a big, bold character and a charming, friendly attitude.
He is by GFS Lord of the Dance, it was a repeat breeding as we had been so excited and thrilled by his full sister last year who went on to be sold to a home for a future of eventing at the higher levels.
His dam, 'Whisper' as we call her is a very athletic mare with high intelligence and sensitivity but a kind nature. I have owned her from a foal and she has matured into a kind, gentle horse with a phenomenal gallop. A big elegant mover, she always throws correct and impressive foals who to date have all moved with huge expression, elasticity, speed and matured at the 17hh mark. They are friendly and bold characters and have all been exceptionally beautiful with enormous potential.
Whisper is by Crown's Ace of Pearl a very useful allrounder of great talent and temperament with a great record showjumping, eventing and in the dressage arena. His sire jumped to GP SJ and from the renowned Crown stud in Denmark who have had enormous success over many years in breeding and producing horses of great versatility in sport with high trainability and exceptional nature.
Whisper is 50% TB being out of a Hubbly Bubbly sired dam and I would consider her foals bred to event. The pairing with 'Django' will ensure a high % of blood ensuring that there is no loss of the gallop, stamina and speed.
Django always throws youngsters with wonderful big paces showing no lack of the type of expression and style that would make anyone look twice! His breeding is a rare amalgamation of Russian Trakhener, Akhal Teke and thoroughbred and he is a proven improver of mares having sired numerous offspring who although still young have found themselves in many professional homes and due shortly to start emerging under saddle and in competition.

'I could not wait to meet this foal and I have not been disappointed! GFS Alchemy is a really good example of the type of foal that I aim to breed each year. He is a very beautiful type with athletic and elegant lines, a really incredible nature with both intelligence and a bold, confident demeanour. He is very human oriented and willing to please. He moves with natural grace, balance and style and demonstrates all of the physical capabilities to excel under saddle in any of the Olympic disciplines with appropriate training under saddle.
He is now weaned and proving to be an absolute delight in every way. He is calm, confident and relaxed in every situation. He is showing great intelligence in every lesson taught and an attitude way beyond his age. He loves attention and willingly does what is asked of him both in the stable and out.
His dam It's Magic was sadly lost to us shortly after foaling. She was a remarkable mare of both quality and talent. Graded into the Westfalian Head Stud Book, she is by Hogwart (Concorde/Voltaire/Nimmerdor) the International Grand Prix showjumping stallion and Westfalian Stallion Champion (Concorde/Voltaire/Nimmerdor) This is a stallion of such quality that he is Licensed into the Belgium Warmblood, Holsteiner, KWPN, NRPS (Dutch) and Westfalian Studbooks. Madge is out of a Cassini/Caletto mare whose pedigree is steeped in International showjumpers.
She is and out of a Cassini/Caletto mare whose pedigree is steeped in international showjumpers.. Madge is a fantastic big moving mare with powerful, compact conformation, a stunning head and great attitude. Prior to retirement due to a chipped bone, she was proven in competition to BSJA Foxhunter with Notational winnings of £1153 (see video link on the broodmare page). This beautiful horse had a wonderful kind nature with impeccable manners and a lovely intelligent willing outlook. Her foals to date have been superb, each benefiting from her exceptional nature, effortless athleticism and expressive paces.
We only started really breeding from his sire GFS EskimoJo 'Mojo' last year as he needed to concentrate on working politely with us, allowing him to mature into his massive frame and having had a couple of trial foals the previous year we were in no rush.
The three that we bred were fantastic and my faith in him as a future stallion was rewarded as his offspring from three very different mares produced foals who were not only 'stamped' with his most desirable traits, they were also really smart, sensible and easy going characters with strong correct conformation and the type of athletic, balanced young horses that I had hoped for. I have retained one of his colts for consideration as a potentially worthy stallion. He is the full brother of GFS Illuminati and had he not been, he would have been retained to produce under saddle and to have possibly been presented for Grading as a future stallion.
GFS Eskimo Jo is a massive 18hh, with exceptional jumping bloodlines, he is only seven years old and still very much growing into his huge skeleton and not nearly at full strength. He has had numerous set backs having broken both his stifle and later his jaw which were injuries that we have had to work with and despite his incredibly trainable and talented attitude under saddle, he needs careful management and it would be doubtful that he would physically stand up to a top level competitive career.
We are taking him slowly but his current aptitude towards work is exemplary and he shows not only a willing intelligence but also enormous balance for one so big. He is the class clown and a handful at times but the moment his tack is on he is all concentration, heart and effort. He is relaxed in his work and a delight under saddle.
This foal is highly likely to be a very exciting and extremely glamorous jumping or eventing prospect!

The arrival of another double dilute colt was something of a surprise, although very welcome as it is a colouring that despite previously disliking intensely, I now absolutely adore.
This colt is absolutely charming, beautifully put together and correct in all ways, he is just so relaxed and friendly. He has also inherited both dam and sires ethereal metallic coat which is as rare as it is mesmerising. This beauty was sold within days of being born to Ireland to both compete and to be run on as a potential furture stallion prospect.
His sire is the stunning and charismatic GFS Lord of the Dance. A proven improver of mares and producer of top quality offspring with enormous talent and potential under saddle. His youngstock are starting to appear under saddle and likely to making their first forays into the competitive arena shortly. He has a Graded son already in the US, one of three who have been snapped up internationally. GFS Mikado is now on a professional yard and on the cusp of commencing a very exciting competitive career.
His dam Pepper is out of a Graded and very rare pure bred Kinsky warmblood mare. The Kinsky's are renowned for their great natures and ability to turn a hoof to virtually any discipline. Throughout their history this is a breed who has excelled in all sport from Steeplechasing (this was a breed that dominated the famed Grand Pardubice ('the Devils race' in the now Czech Republic. This was a death defying race notorious for its vast obstacles and stamina sapping ploughed fields. The Kinsky horse's versatility has seen them compete with great success in the fields of showjumping, dressage, endurance, carriage driving and eventing. They are the ultimate all rounder. In addition to their famed versatility, huge hearts and talent under saddle, these rare horses have coats that positively shimmer with an ethereal looking 'metallic' sheen to them. This is thought to come from an infusion of the Akhal Teke and Russian Budyonny bloodlines thought to be used developing the breed. Pepper has this incredible sheen and this is the first of her foal that has inherited it. Pepper has a fantastic nature and I have no doubt if we had ever put her under saddle she would have proven equally as impressive in her multitude of talents as her ancestors. However as a very accident prone young horse and one who arrived with us as a foal in a very bad way, she has become a very special member of the family, with her gentle and generous disposition and producing beautiful foals with her glorious nature and instantly adored by all who meet her.

This is our fourth GFS Lord of the Dance and Neforia foal with very good reason! This pairing has produced three exceptional foals to date, one with a professional eventer and the other purchased by a fellow breeder in the US to be professionally produced. I did retain his full brother last year in the hope of running him on as a future stallion but regretfully I decided that he was just too interested in the ladies from such an early age that he was subsequently gelded and sold to a fantastic home where he will eventually be produced for jumping and eventing.
These foals all share an exceptional beauty and a magnetic natural presence that cannot help but draw admiring glances. They tend to be super intelligent, powerful, fast and fluid through all paces; incredibly supple, expressive in each gait and light on their feet; utter poetry in motion!
For the serious amateur or professional the horses from this breeding are bursting with talent and the type of sensitivity that make them completely in tune with their riders and a keen wish to bond with those they trust.
They are as fast as lightning, a joy to watch float across the arena and without a doubt balanced and brave enough to tackle any cross country course with the right training or indeed any other equestrian disciple where talent, willingness to perform and style are requisite.
As with their dam and to an extent their sire, they tend to be one person horses who thrive on developing a true one on one relationship, however this young man is everybody's friend and a confident little show off of the highest order!
His dam Neforia is a Graded Ster KWPN mare by the dressage stallion San Remo, campaigned by Edward Gall and whose female progeny number more than seven Ster Preferent.
Her damline is exceptional, her dam is an an Elite GP dressage mare by Haarlem.
This foal will be a very interesting an exciting prospect for someone interested in a serious future, excelling in either dressage or eventing and looking for a partner of a lifetime with whom they can to foster an extraordinary relationship.
His sire GFS Lord of the Dance has proven himself a prolific producer of real potential competitive offspring who have attracted the attention of both the ambitious amateur and professionals. They are just starting to come out under saddle and we will soon be filling our news pages with tales of their sporting endeavours!
He is a stunningly beautiful and charismatic stallion, a proven improver of mares and producer of top quality offspring with enormous talent and potential under saddle. His youngstock are starting to appear under saddle and likely to making their first forays into the competitive arena shortly. He has a Graded son already in the US, one of three who have been snapped up internationally. GFS Bodacious's full sister was also snapped up by a buyer in the US to be produced for eventing.
There is much information on GFS Lord of the Dance on his page. However, adding to that he is just the softest sweetest and most beautiful young stallion. His bloodlines are of rare and lauded Russian Trakehner, Akhal Teke and TB ancestry and his impact on the offspring of the mares he covers is of improvement both physically and mentally as well as imparting great beauty, elegance and loyalty.

Smoky Black Colt
To make between 16.1hh - 16.3hh
SOLD
This impressive smoky black colt is likely to be the last we have from the legendary mare Wantasia. 'Shadow' as she is known here is a stunning looking KWPN mare with the most incredible jumping pedigree and has been one of the most reliable producers of simply exceptional foals for us.
This Indoctro sired mare is out of a Corland/Nimmerdor Keur awarded KWPN mare, Santasia.
She was retired at the young age of six due to a paddock accident and before her potential could be realised, this beautiful, graceful mare with her powerful, rhythmic, athletic movement, phenomenal jump and faultless temperament has consistently produced foals of exceptional quality and with all of the characteristics that make her so special to us and such a valuable broodmare.
Her bloodlines speak for themselves! On her dams side, her Grandsire is the amazing Keur Preferent stallion, Indoctro, showjumper and progenitor of highly regarded offspring competing in all three major disciplines, but the sire of over 180 competitive showjumpers. Wantasia's dam is by Corland ( son of the inimitable Cor de la Bryere) out of the showjumping International and important sire of champions, Nimmerdor.
The sire of this impressive, big moving and highly athletic colt is GFS Fire and Ice. This has been a match made in heaven previously with four foals born of this breeding; GFS Theodora, a hugely talented filly now in Scotland and soon to be started under saddle, GFS Mister Bojangles who is now with Erica and Ibble Watson and soon to start a potentially very exciting eventing career, the stunning and very unique GFS Wildstyle Graffiti who is now in the US and now this amazing boy.
