Terms and Conditions
The Stud Fee (except frozen semen) includes a £100 booking fee, this is non returnable. There is a collection fee of £70 with each order and delivery charges which may vary according to location.
Payment of the Stud Fee, collection charges and delivery must be paid in full before the semen can be dispatched.
All semen will be examined under a microscope for motility and density. Semen will only be dispatched if considered to be of good quality. However, no guarantee as to the fertility of semen can be given due to there being numerous factors relevant to each individual mare successfully conceiving and holding a pregnancy.
NFFR (No Foal Free Return – on fresh and chilled semen only)
If the mare is scanned 'not in foal' by October 1st, 50% of the Stud Fee, excluding the £100 booking fee which is non refundable will be returned on receipt of a veterinary certificate confirming that the mare is not in foal. Alternatively, there will be the option of a free return for the following season following an additional payment of £100 return booking fee for that season with additional shipping and collection fees.
Free returns must be taken by the end of the subsequent year and will be valid for a consecutive period of two years only.
GFS Sporthorses reserve the right to refund 50% of the Stud Fee, less the booking fee should a mare not be in foal.
This does not apply for frozen semen.
In the event of a mares death, GFS Sporthorses will fulfil their contractual agreement with another approved mare nominated in their place. This is not applicable should the recipient mare be sold. The contract is between the nominating mare owner and GFS Sporthorses only.
In the event that a stallion is unable to fulfil his collection duties due to accident, injury or other reason GFS Sporthorses will provide frozen semen or an alternative stallion standing at the Stud as a substitute.
Frozen semen doses are supplied on a Stud Fee basis for one pregnancy, one covering certificate. Any doses that are damaged or deemed to be substandard post thaw should be reported upon arrival will be replaced as a matter of course by GFS Sporthorses less any transport charges.
Should the dose be split, the purchaser accepts the risk in reducing the chances of a successful conception. Should this result in an additional pregnancy the purchaser will be liable to pay and additional Stud Fee less a 25% reduction.
NO double dilute mares are to be inseminated with semen doses collected from our double dilute stallions. Dilute mares will be considered on an individual basis with approval given only to Graded mares or those with an official performance record. An additional 50% of the Stud Fee will be applicable in this case.
Frozen semen is stored at West Kington Stud in the UK and for Europe and through Dr.Matthew Mackee in Australia for the Oceana market.
Covering Certificates will be issued upon receipt of veterinary confirmation that the mare is in foal.
